The Great 3G Switch-Off
3G is shutting down in the UK. Vodafone, O2, EE, and Three have all announced that they will switch off their 3G networks.
This is part of a wider industry initiative to switch off 3G across the country. It affects all business and personal users who rely on these networks for mobile data.
The switch-off will enable the mobile network operators to focus on upgrading to faster, more reliable, and energy-efficient 4G and 5G networks.
– Vodafone aims to phase out 3G across the UK by early 2024
– EE has confirmed that it will begin a nationwide switch-off of its 3G service from January 2024
– O2 announced plans to close the 3G network in 2025
– Three will be saying goodbye to 3G at the end of 2024
